Nikon d7000 Manual
I have a Nikon D7000 which was released in 2010, has 16.2 megapixels, and has a crop sensor. While reading through the camera's manual, I came across a bunch of features and different capabilities about the camera that I never knew it had or that it could do.
The first thing I learned while reading was that I didn't know anything about the depth of field button. If you're shooting a photograph in a mode other than automatic mode -- like aperture priority mode -- when you look through the view finder, you can't see how the lighting and colors are effected by the settings you've changed. However, if you press the depth of field button, it will change the lighting and what you see, in accordance with your settings.
The second thing I discovered while reading the manual was the release mode, and all of its functions and settings. I already knew about the quiet mode, but learning about all the other modes was pretty interesting. For example, when you slide the turner onto the CH mode, the camera can take up to six pictures a second.
The third thing I learned while reading through the manual was active D lighting, how to use it, and how it changes the pictures. You can adjust how high or low you want it to be in the settings. When it is turned on, it can really change the amount of natural colors as well as other things like shadows. If you took a picture of a pathway, for example, and it was covered in all sorts of of shadows from trees, having the active D lighting on high would help to bring out the shadows from the trees as they are projected onto the path.
